Attendance & participation
LIN 26/001 Sch 2 item 6.3 · Version 1.0 · Last updated 21 October 2026
To claim CPD points, a registered migration agent must remain in attendance for the entire duration of the activity. We verify both presence and engagement.
Identity
- Online: each participant registers with their name, email and MARN and receives a personal join link that allows one connection. You are admitted from the waiting room only once your display name matches the registration list, and your face is matched to your name on entry. You may be asked to show photo ID to the camera.
- Face-to-face: photo-ID check and a signed sign-in (name, MARN, signature, time) on arrival, and sign-out at the end.
Presence and engagement
- Camera on for the whole online session (reasonable brief exceptions). This is a condition of enrolment.
- Roll call at the start and, in workshops with a break, after the break; head-count after each break face-to-face.
- At least four timed participation checkpoints (polls) in each two-hour workshop and two in a one-hour workshop, plus contribution to breakout or table report-backs.
- The Zoom participant report (or signed register), poll and chat exports are reconciled within 2 business days, and the lead facilitator signs off the attendance and participation record.
Late arrival, disconnection and absence
- Absent for less than 5 minutes in total (for example a dropped connection): we note the time, you rejoin, and attendance is not affected.
- Absent for 5 to 15 minutes in total: recorded on the register; you complete a short catch-up task set by the facilitator, within 5 days of the workshop, before completion is confirmed.
- Absent for more than 15 minutes, or missing a breakout activity: attendance is incomplete and no certificate is issued for that session. You are offered a free place at the next scheduled session.
- Arriving more than 10 minutes late face-to-face, or leaving early, is recorded and the same rules apply.
Only participants who attended the full workshop (within these tolerances) and completed every participation checkpoint receive a certificate.
