How every workshop is delivered
- Every CPD activity is a facilitator-led, interactive Category A workshop, conducted in real time either live online (Zoom, meeting format) or face-to-face, with a maximum of 30 participants. We do not offer self-paced, recorded or unfacilitated content as a CPD activity.
- Each workshop has defined learning outcomes aligned to the Occupational Competency Standards for migration agents, and follows a cycle of short input, applied case work in small groups, plenary debrief and a knowledge check. At least 50% of contact time is active learning; no passive presentation segment runs longer than 15 minutes.
- Content is checked for legal currency within 14 days before every delivery and reviewed annually by an independent peer reviewer.
- Workshops are presented by suitably qualified practitioners. Our presenter is Vikas Jain, Principal Solicitor & Director, Wickham Lawyers.
Materials
Learning outcomes, pre-reading, the participant workbook and the joining guide are released through our learning portal 7 days before the workshop.
In-session checks
In-session knowledge checks run as polls, alongside the case-study work. They are part of participation, not a test.
After the workshop
- There is nothing further to complete once the session ends, unless you were briefly absent and are set a catch-up task (see our attendance and participation policy).
- Our staff reconcile the Zoom participant report (or signed register), poll and chat records, and verify each participant's attendance and participation.
- Timing: this is done promptly so we can notify OMARA within 14 days of the workshop. OMARA requires notification within 14 days of the participant completing the activity (LIN 26/001, Schedule 2, item 6.2).
- Reasonable adjustments: captions, alternative formats and other adjustments are available on request. Ask us at enrolment or any time before the workshop.
Certificates
A certificate of completion is issued within 5 business days of our staff verifying your full attendance. It shows the provider name and approval period, the activity title (and OMARA activity number where assigned), the category and number of CPD points (including points counted towards the mandatory ethical standards and Code of Conduct requirements), the delivery mode, the date, and your name and MARN.
