For agents in their first 0–3 years

New Agent Support

Your studies covered the law. Nobody taught you how to set up a client ledger, price a partner visa, or reply to an RFI that lands two days before you go on leave. New Agent Support gives newly registered agents practical, hands-on help from senior immigration lawyers and practitioners to launch their practice and get their first files right, without the stress of working it all out alone.

A consulting service, not CPD

These packages are an extra professional service. They aren't part of our OMARA-approved CPD program and don't earn CPD points. You buy them for the results in your practice.

What you get out of it

We act as your consulting partner through the first years of practice, focused on four things.

  • Run a tidy, compliant practice from day oneWorkflows for file management, client onboarding and record-keeping that you can put to work straight away, not after a year of trial and error.
  • Lodge your first files with confidenceStructured oversight and file strategy on your early caseload, so gaps are caught before lodgement rather than after a refusal.
  • Get paid properly for your workMove from a student mindset to running a business: clear fixed fees, a consultation process that converts, and boundaries that protect your time.
  • Have someone to callWhen a request for information, a natural justice letter or an unexpected Department response arrives, you have a direct line to someone who has handled it before.

Three packages

Start with the one that matches where you are now. Many agents begin with the Launch Accelerator and add file reviews as their caseload grows.

1Foundation program · about 30 days

Practice Launch Accelerator

Get your practice compliant, organised and ready for clients, in a program designed to run over about 30 days.

  • Compliance infrastructureOne-on-one guidance on the systems the Code of Conduct expects: a clients' account and ledger for fees paid in advance, record-keeping and file notes, and getting your professional indemnity insurance in place.
  • Client intake that worksA client onboarding process built around your practice: an initial consultation framework, a Service Agreement that sets out services and fees the way the Code requires, and when and how to give clients the Consumer Guide.
  • Tech and portal walkthroughsScreen-share sessions on ImmiAccount, LEGENDcom searches that find the right law and policy quickly, and keeping client data secure.

The result: You leave with a working setup: ledgers, agreements, intake process and portal workflows you can use on your next client.

2Per case or monthly

Caseload Strategy & File Reviews

A professional second eye on your visa applications before you lodge them.

  • Pre-lodgement file auditsA structured review of your draft application, evidence bundle and submissions or cover letter, to find the gaps before the Department does.
  • Complex case mappingStrategy sessions for high-friction matters: PIC 4020, health waivers, Schedule 3 criteria, and employer-sponsored streams such as the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) and ENS (subclass 186) visas.
  • RFI and natural justice responsesPrompt advisory sessions to help you read a section 56 request for information or a section 57 natural justice letter, and plan a clear, well-evidenced reply within the deadline.

The result: Fewer avoidable errors, faster progress on tricky files, and less second-guessing at 11pm before a deadline. You stay the agent on the file throughout.

3Monthly retainer

Growth & Mentorship Retainer

An ongoing consulting partnership focused on your business, your pricing and your confidence as a practitioner.

  • Pricing and packagingStop undercharging. Build profitable fixed-fee menus for the visa categories you handle, and learn how to present them to clients.
  • Regular strategy callsScheduled sessions to review your pipeline, work through practice-management problems, and deal with the doubts that come with running your own practice.
  • Consultation debriefsGo back over recent client consultations to improve your conversion rate, set better boundaries, and give honest advice on prospects that keeps client expectations realistic from the first meeting.

The result: A practice that earns what your work is worth, with a steady pipeline and clients who know what to expect.

Common questions

Does this count towards my CPD points?

No. New Agent Support is a consulting service, separate from our OMARA-approved CPD program. It isn't an approved CPD activity and doesn't earn points. For your 10 points, see our CPD workshops.

Who is it for?

Registered Migration Agents in roughly their first three years of practice, especially sole practitioners and agents who have just opened their own business. More experienced agents who want an outside view of a file are welcome too.

Who will I work with?

Senior immigration lawyers and experienced practitioners who have built and run their own practices, and who remember what the first years were like.

Who is responsible for the file?

You are. We advise you as a practitioner; we don't act for your client, contact them or lodge on their behalf. A review lowers the risk of avoidable mistakes but can't guarantee an outcome, and your obligations under the Code of Conduct, including to your client, stay with you.

How do you handle client documents?

Share client documents only with your client's consent, which the Code of Conduct requires before you disclose their information. We can suggest consent wording, and some reviews can work from de-identified copies. We agree a secure way to share files before any review starts and treat everything as confidential. Please don't put client names or details in the enquiry form.

How much does it cost?

Each package is quoted at a fixed price once we understand what you need. File reviews can be bought one case at a time or as a monthly block.

I just need help with one question. Do I need a package?

No. For a one-off session or a second opinion on a single matter, see Coaching and Mentoring. New Agent Support is for agents who want a structured program through their first years.
